The main purpose of the role

The assistant work alongside teachers to promote effective teaching and learning and to provide supervision outside the classroom in order to assist our stated aim of providing a safe environment for all students.

Key responsibilities

• Promote the school values RISE, Golden Rules, and Positive Discipline;

• Accompanying the students between the classrooms and the buses;

• Supervise actively at recess times and at lunch time while the children eat;

• Supporting teachers to promote effective teaching and learning within the classroom;

• Taking responsibility for the care of all equipment, as appropriate;

• Providing general clerical/ admin support as appropriate;

• Accompanying educational visits as required;

• Ensure the health and safety of all students.

And other duties as assigned

Skills and Competencies

• Teaching assistant qualification

• Experience or qualification in learning support is an asset

• Show good judgment and sense of priorities

• Take initiative when necessary

• Speak English as mother tongue

It is important that the post holder is always aware of Child Protection guidelines and observes a professional distance from students whilst still developing effective working and caring relationships.

You understand and embrace the importance of diversity and inclusion and stand against discrimination in any form. Background investigations and reference checks for the past ten years will be conducted during the selection process
