This two-year position is offered to applicants who wish to complete a Ph.D. thesis at the Institute for IS&Society. To support the research culture at the Institute for MIS, we are looking for a Ph.D. candidate who is considering an academic career.Researchers will explore technical, economic and social issues that relate to ubiquitous computing environments. Applicants should be interested in the field of human-computer interaction, as well as ethical and sustainable system design. Potential areas of research include privacy and security, ethical computing, context-adaptive systems (i.e. mobile systems, RFID, sensor networks, smart public infrastructure, and digital signage), and web-based systems (especially speech assistants).Although most of their time will be devoted to research, the candidate will have some administrative and co-coordinative functions at the Institute for MIS, such as thesis project supervisions, exam corrections, etc. The candidate will also teach a two-hour course each semester (teaching in SBWL Marketing).Profile• Applicants for the Ph.D. positions must have a master's degree in one of the following subjects: business administration, computer science, business informatics, engineering, mathematics, human-computer interaction or psychology.• Applicants must be able to demonstrate exceptional analytical and conceptual skills. They must be fluent in written and spoken English and should ideally possess knowledge about programming, statistics, or both
