Job Description:

Your assignment includes teaching of scientific classes in the Bachelor Program Transcultural Communication and the Master Program Translation – mainly with a focus on specialized translation and dialogue interpreting. You will be in charge of courses at all levels of the bachelors (language, text, culture and translation) and masters (translation and interpreting) programs and will participate in the (further) development of examination formats. You are prepared to collaborate on research projects and to contribute to structural planning at the Centre for Translation Studies. We expect the successful candidate to remain up to date with the current state of research, to undergo continuing education and training in didactics and to conduct research when no classes are being held. In addition, the University of Vienna expects the successful candidate to fulfil administrative tasks, in particular with a focus on the administration of teaching.Profile:

Prerequisites for a successful application / admission requirements:a. doctoral degree/PhD in Translation Studies or Interpreting Studies, research activities in the advertised areab. Working languages: Italian, German and another language (preferably a Romance language) that is offered at the Centre for Translation Studies and English as lingua francac. Several years of very well rated teaching experience at a post-secondary educational institution in the advertised aread.
