Role Summary:

We are seeking a commerical Financial analyst to assist with Finance Manager in supporting th Global Qualifications business. The commercial Finance Analyst, you will work closely with the business to achieve its revenue and profit targets, and also play an integral role in supporting the strategic decision making of the Global Qualifications portfolio.

Main activities and responsibilities will include:

  • Detailed business analysis and monitoring of both revenue and cost base in order to outline problems, opportunities and solutions for the business.

  • Work with non-finance colleagues to support Global Qualifications growth in the UK and internationally.

  • Streamline and improvement of reporting, to drive cost efficiencies and meet business data and reporting needs.

  • Support the delivery of key reporting, planning, budgeting and forecasting processes.

  • Financial modelling and analysis to support strategic business decisions.

  • Deliver high quality, auditable work, and support in demonstrating evidence to auditors if necessary.

  • Presenting results of work back to key stakeholders (both Finance and non-Finance).

Qualifications

  • Newly Qualified Accountant.

  • Fluent English speaker.

  • Good organisational skills, strong understanding of materiality and ability to prioritise across competing agendas.

  • A working knowledge of accounting principles is essential along with excellent knowledge of Excel.

  • Systems experience (preferably Oracle) would be a bonus but not essential.

  • Highly analytical, and the ability to get into the details, while also seeing and understanding the bigger commercial picture and business impacts.

  • Advanced problem solving and root cause analysis ability combined with confident communication skills for conveying your conclusions, as well as ability to effectively communicate with and work alongside non-finance colleagues.

  • Self-starter who has the ability and drive to operate independently.

  • Comfortable working in cross-functional teams, and ability to navigate through a complex matrix structure and in an ambiguous environment.
