Technology Support Technician – Job Responsibilities

The Roger Bacon Academy is an education management organization that manages multiple award-winning public charter schools in southeastern North Carolina. We are seeking a Technology Support Technician at Classical Charter Schools of Southport, located in Bolivia, NC. The Technology Technician is responsible for overseeing the IT support operations for the school, providing timely, reliable and courteous service to school staff. The successful candidate will require an aptitude for diagnosing and resolving problems in the areas of computer hardware and operating system software, educational applications and connected peripherals. Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware, network and computer peripherals. Reports to the Headmaster and coordinates with IT Director to fulfill duties.

Essential Functions include:

• 
  Provide guidance, assistance, and follow-up on client questions, problems or malfunctions of all systems, applications, hardware and software installed or maintained by IT staff.
• Provide training on new IT related applications and procedures to all members of staff when needed with strong customer service skills.
• Manage PC setup and deployment for new employees using standard procedures.
• Ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it.
• Ability to handle constantly changing flow of requests and is able to multitask effectively.
• Basic IP knowledge and network troubleshooting

Other duties as assigned by Headmaster in support of school operations.

Qualifications

Qualified individual will have:

A.A.S. in Computer Information Technology or Equivalent work experience.

Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems with emphasis on Windows 10 and the MS Office Suite of applications.

Experience with PC hardware, (desktop / laptop /mobile devices / tablets); Specific experience with Chromebooks and Android tablets.

Professional demeanor, proactive, self-starter with the ability to work independently.

Exercise patience and professionalism during stressful situations.

Physical ability to lift/carry 45 lbs. and dexterity to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job.
