The Member Education & Development Advocate drives business development efforts for their market area. This person is responsible for the execution of business development activities such as tabletop events, presentations, as well as the facilitation of Financial Education workshops, to promote the growth of the Credit Union and assist Cast with their financial wellness. Additionally, the MEDA works to develop and enhance relationships with the sponsor organization.
Responsibilities :
Execution of business development activities including facilitation of tabletops and workshops, presentations, networking, follow-up and follow-through with members/potential members and branch staff.
Business Development activity reporting including data entry, Member service via CU social sites, report management and publication of reports to team members.
Generate leads and acquire new Members through Business Development activities including ;basic Member service, referring/initiating loan applications, processing direct deposit for new Cast, etc.
Facilitates product training and informational seminars and workshops for members to increase sales and engagement of the members.
Actively solicit new business contacts throughout the sponsor company to increase Credit Union product sales.
Manage key contacts to guide them in becoming advocates of the Credit Union.
Assist the Member Education & Development Manager in maintaining and expanding the Credit Union’s charter by creating relationships throughout the sponsor company and other select groups deemed legitimate.
Become regional product expert and work to educate cast members and credit union members on PFCU products and services, including financial counseling to increase sales and Member understanding of credit
Basic Qualifications :
Must have Financial Counselor Certification- or ability to obtain certification
Must be proficient in Excel and Microsoft Outlook
Willingness to routinely approach individuals you do not know
Demonstrated history of initiative
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to be flexible with work schedule including events, weekends and some holidays
Ability to stay and stand at a table/event for extended periods of time including outdoors
Demonstrated proficiency with Windows-based system
Demonstrated experience in a proactive face-to-face sales environment
Facilitation skills and experience
Ability to make sales presentations & facilitate educational workshops
Knowledge and understanding of Credit Union products and services
Proven ability to develop effective relationships and partnerships
Demonstrated follow-through skills
Strong verbal, interpersonal and listening skills
Demonstrated strong organization, multi-tasking and time management skills
Attention to detail
Ability to work remotely if requested
Capability to travel to/from different event locations via personal vehicle
Potential to occasionally host events at locations via air travel.
