What will you be doing?   

• Work alongside the Head of Legal, Legal Leadership team and senior lawyers to raise the profile and impact of the Business Legal team within the business & drive employee engagement within the team;
• To own and drive Business Product Legal activities and projects; Work alongside Senior Counsel and Counsel in providing specialist and expert product legal advice; and; Drive Business legal transformation projects, process improvement and change innovation 
• Providing or procuring legal support and advice to the teams within UK Business Product Management function.
• Advising on healthcare product development activities, EU/UK Medical Devices Regulation and applicable laws and codes of practice in relation to the promotion of Medical Devices

• Advising on intellectual property matters regarding Medical Devices.
• Legal support in relation to new product development and service introduction and updates to existing products and services. 
• Managing Business Legal priorities and resource planning using agile tools and processes.  
• Support the creation of Business UK Product contract documentation and input to Business Legal contract template strategy.
• Working closely with the Group Business Legal Product team to develop and maintain an aligned approach.
• Providing expert advice on structuring, and drafting and negotiating contracts with suppliers, partners and customers required in the development and deployment of the Business Product catalogue
• Developing relationships and with relevant individuals with other key functions outside Business Product Management involved in the development and/or deployment of Business Products, such as Regulatory professionals & Compliance, Commercial, Frameworks Technology, Supply Chain
• Regular liaison with Vodafone Limited’s regulatory and compliance teams and the provision of commercial/product legal support on key regulatory projects. 
• Assisting in the development of best practice within Vodafone with regard to the legal aspects of commercial and contractual matters with regard to product development and deployment. 
• Assisting in the training of teams within the Product Management function on key legal issues.
• Advice in relation to Business marketing, advertising and sponsorship agreements. Developing and maintaining efficient and effective relationships with the Business Marketing teams.
• Assisting in the maintenance and evolution of Totem (Business Product Legal’s database of live Business products and the Service Terms applicable to them)
• Creating and evolving Product legal know-how, guidance notes and process improvements.
• Input into and driving the program of Product Legal training sessions such as “Product Meets Deals”

Who are we looking for? 

University honours degree (second class or better).
Solicitor with high quality post-qualification legal experience in the commercial field
Solid grounding in commercial law and a good level of general legal knowledge.
Experience in advising on medical devices regulation and promotion is desirable. 
Experience in intellectual property law in relation to medical devices is desirable.
Proficient drafting skills and able to draft standard commercial contracts, with ability to draft more complex contracts under supervision.
Good negotiation and influencing skills 
Able to act unsupervised on standard commercial contracts and under supervision on more complex matters.
