The Purpose of Your Role

You are responsible for mitigating risks to the firm and ensuring legally required responses are handled appropriately and on time. Your role in interactions with multiple internal groups such as client experience, operations and services group, compliance, legal and risk groups will be as a liaison, partner and subject matter expert.

Experience We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent work experience)
  • Minimum of 3-5(+) years’ experience in the securities industry, or securities or corporate law department of a law firm
  • Legal experience either in a corporate setting or financial services firm (paralegal certificate a plus)

  • Interpreting rules and regulations that govern a vast array of legal and regulatory documents. Working within these parameters to analyze, interpret, and respond to complex documents that that need precise and accurate responses to ensure that we respond appropriately to the legal, governmental or regulatory authority while not opening Fidelity Investments to lawsuits from our customers.
  • Analyzing court and administrative orders to determine whether they are enforceable and when it is appropriate restrict accounts or transfer assets in accordance to the legal documents.
  • Analyzing and responding to subpoena requests. The analyst must determine scope of production, what documents can be produced pursuant to both the request and Fidelity's policy and procedures.
  • Organizing information and documents using internal systems. Acting with integrity and maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive information. Ensuring the accuracy of highly detailed information (e.g. communications, documents or electronic files, etc).
  • Communicating with customers, business units and other entities via telephone contact, written correspondence, or the hotline to facilitate the prompt resolution of court order or subpoena related issues.
  • Responding to child support, tax, federal levies and class action requests.

The work conducted in the Legal Operations group reduces multiple risks for the firm which include reputational, regulatory, legal and monetary. Your accurate analysis and response to legal documents keep Fidelity in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
