Role Overview

Bechtel is hiring a Junior Business Development Manager as part of the Marketing and Business Development (M&BD) group for the Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) business.

 

In this role, the Junior Business Development Manager will be responsible for assisting business development managers (BDMs) in market / prospect penetration, customer relationship, assisting with market research, competitor analysis, potential partners identification and engagement; and leading the tracking of industry trends and report writing and assisting in the development of presentations and proposals.

 

The role will have primary responsibility for customers in the semiconductors (manufacturing facilities and supply chain); electric vehicles (batteries, charging, and production); synthetic materials; and data centers sectors to assist in identifying, evaluating, and developing new opportunities. 

Additional responsibilities will include gaining internal support and supporting marketing and business development activities associated with advancing Bechtel-developed prospects and winning new work on a competitive basis. 

 

Key Responsibilities

Assists in the preparation and monitoring of various business development activities.

Assists in the development of marketing materials for the M&T’s M&BD group.

Assists the BDMs with initial drafting of policy letters and coordinated input of same.

Coordinate with and support BDMs to ensure prospects are up-to-date and relevant.

Maintains records of prospects, client, and competitor information in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool.

Manage client and competitor account information.

Produce reports from CRM as needed.

Keeping informed of customers' present and future plans for growth, projects, and technical requirements.

Demonstrating through the use of personal knowledge, supplemented by other Bechtel personnel, how Bechtel can help meet the customers’ requirements and expectations

Assists BD mangers in identifying possible future prospects by engaging with potential customers.

Understanding customer requirements and drivers, and supporting the Business Development Manager to develop win plans

Maintaining an active profile in the market including potential customers, partners, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Maintaining an awareness of competitors’ strategy, pricing trends and approaches

Assisting in the development and implementation of overall project execution strategies including considering project risk

Assisting with the preparation and coordination of proposals, including tracking budgets

Assisting with development of management approval documentation and presentation material in support of all activities in the business cycle

 

 

Basic Qualifications:

Level 1: Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years of related work experience, 12 years of related work experience in lieu of degree

Level 2: Bachelor’s Degree and 9 years of related work experience, 15 years of related work experience in lieu of degree

Skilled in oral and written communication with demonstrated ability in making presentations to customers and management
