About the role
The International Curriculum team is seeking a Content Developer (Advanced Content and Learning Specialist/Commissioning Editor) to join our team to develop innovative and market-appropriate resources for international schools worldwide and will be responsible for commissioning, developing, project managing and delivering on time and to budget an ambitious publishing programme.
You will commission, project manage and develop the content of a range of publishing and curriculum projects from commissioning to publication, working with other members of the publishing and editorial team and other key stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:
Collaborate with other team members to identify, evaluate, select, commission and retain subject matter experts, authors, consultants and other key stakeholders.
Brief authors, subject matter experts, freelance editors and editorial vendors, negotiating terms, schedules and expectations.
Carry out quality assurance, ensuring that feedback to authors/consultants is timely and clear and that content delivered meets the brief and delivers the identified learner outcomes.
Work with key stakeholders and customers in our global regions to gather and apply insights.
Manage projects through to publication to time and budget.
Working with cross-functional teams including Rights and Permissions, Design, Media and Technology.
Contribute to publishing proposals, perhaps leading on some of these.
Develop an understanding of our markets and the learners’ needs to support the development of quality materials.
When required, conduct hands on copyediting, development editing and proofreading of resources, ensuring they fully meet market needs.
What we are looking for:
As anAdvanced Content and Learning Specialist/Commissioning Editor, you will have a background in education or educational publishing, preferably for the international schools market and experience of commissioning and managing authors, subject matter experts, editorial vendors as well as other external resources. Experience of hands-on content editing and quality assurance would be desirable.
You will also need good communication and teamwork skills and be organised, self-motivated, flexible with the ability to work independently.
Role location : This is a hybrid role and will allow for home working as well as from one of our offices based in either Oxford or London. Some international travel may be required on occasion.
