MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To work alongside the Finance Manager to provide efficient and accurate finance administration for The Dukes Playhouse Trust.
POSITION IN ORGANISATION:

Works directly with other departments and teams
SCOPE OF JOB:
To support the Finance Manager in the recording and reporting of the organisation’s finances
To administer and maintain the finance systems for the organisation
DIMENSIONS AND LIMITS OF AUTHORITY:
The post holder will manage a petty cash float and monies for banking.
The post holder will prepare financial information.
The post holder is empowered to access financial documents that demand confidentiality.
The post holder is required to deliver company policy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cash Handling
Daily banking of box office, bar, front of house and other takings
Analysing and reconciling the cash book
Ensuring petty cash claims are correctly completed and obtain cash from bank.
Accounts Administration
Oversee and action accounts payable and recoverable for the organisation maintaining accurate records.
Assist the Finance Manager in producing timely and accurate financial information including management accounts, annual accounts and VAT returns.
Report to budget holders to support financial planning.
Assist the Finance Manager in the processing of the company’s payroll system and actioning of payments.
Financial Protocols
Ensure all expenditure made follows authority rules and that invoices are correctly coded and authorised.
Reconcile front of house and box office takings to bank accounts and accounting software
Any other duties as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Educated to A Level, or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Essential
At least 2 years’ experience of finance
Able to work to deadlines
Previous experience of working with a variety of software packages [experience of Sage accounts desirable]
Able to work as part of a team
Desirable

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
SALARY: £18,961.80 pro rata, i.e. £12,155 p.a.
PENSION: Auto Enrolment pensionÂ
HOURS: 25 hours per week. No overtime is payable but time off in lieu may be taken with agreement of line manager.Â
HOLIDAYS: Annual holiday entitlement is 20 days per year pro rata plus bank holiday entitlement. This increases to 25 days per year after two years’ service. Â
NOTICE PERIOD : 4 weeks
