Trade and port team
The trade and port team handles soil trading cases, (trade) summary proceedings and petition proceedings. The team chairperson and the two heads of legal support direct the team. The team consists of (senior) judges, (senior) legal advisers and (senior) court lawyers. The team is supported by a scheduler and two management assistants. For this team we are looking for an enthusiastic and inquisitive legal lawyer.
What are you going to do?
As a court lawyer:
- will you be involved in petition procedures;
- assess and analyze your legal files;
- you prepare a case, you are a court registrar, you act as an interlocutor for the judges and you take care of the legal post-processing, including drafting judgments;
- you contribute to the coordination of the treatment;
- you are part of the expert bureau, where you are responsible for the entire process surrounding the engagement of experts if so requested by a judge.

- A salary in scale 9 (minimum €2,881.16 and maximum €4,070.75 based on 36 hours per week);
- Leave of 144 hours + IKB hours (21.6) and age hours with a working week of 36 hours;
- An individual choice budget (IKB). The IKB consists of money (16.37% of your gross annual salary) and time (extra-statutory holiday hours and any age hours). With this choice budget you can compose part of your employment conditions yourself;
- Pension accrual according to the ABP;
- Good arrangements for parental leave and compensation for commuting;
- Court of Rotterdam is easily accessible by public transport (metro / tram stop Wilhelminaplein).
What do we ask of you?
- You have an academic working and thinking level. This can be evidenced by a completed HBO law degree with relevant work experience or a completed university degree in Dutch law;
- You have knowledge of and/or experience with commercial law;
- You know how to place a case in a legal framework and you show its essence and details in a good legal argument and analysis. In doing so, you show initiative to put forward your point of view. This forms the basis of the judge's decision;
- You can express yourself flawlessly in Dutch, both orally and in writing;
- You are able to plan and organize your work well; you keep the end result in mind.
- You have an eye for (process) improvement and you are not afraid to perform operational tasks.
