The Legal Department has several key operations to meet our obligations to various regulatory oversight and investigative bodies as necessary. Within the Legal Department, the Office of the Secretary ("OTS") promotes effective and consistent governance of the JPM legal entities and branches through its partnership with senior management of the firm, directors, control groups, lines of business and corporate units. In Colombia, OTS provides governance support to the local JPM entities. OTS manages and coordinates meetings of the board of directors and risk committee, shareholder meetings, certain corporate filings and reports, and provides legal entity information for the applicable entities. OTS also provides legal advice related to regulatory matters impacting the local legal entities.
We are seeking a legal intern to join the Subsidiary Corporate Governance team. The role supports all matters relating to subsidiary corporate governance and processes in Colombia. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:• Coordinating meetings of the main corporate governance bodies• Reviewing legal documents, such as opinions and powers of attorney• Analyzing legal reforms that impact the corporate structure and obligations of the firm in Colombia• Drafting minutes of board of directors, risk committee and annual shareholder meetings• Completing corporate filings and reports as requested by internal and external stakeholders• Assisting in other special projects, as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications include:•
Law school students• Graduation on December 30, 2022 or later• Fluent in English language• Knowledge of MS Office package, and• Interested in the financial system, stock exchange, corporate and banking law.
