The Role:
The Brand Protection Assistant will sit in the Brand and Customer Experience sub-team of the ASOS Legal Department. As an innovative pure-play e-commerce fashion destination, every inch of ASOS incorporates Brand, Intellectual Property and Customer Experience. This role will be critical in helping ensure that the Brand and Customer Experience sub-team protects the ASOS’ business across the globe.
No two days are the same in brand protection and you’ll need to thrive in change and be excited to engage with and build relationships with multiple facets of the ASOS business, not to mention external suppliers who help us protect the ASOS brand. 
You’ll need a passion for protecting brand assets from domains to trade marks across a range of different platforms from Alibaba to Twitter.  You’ll need to be hands on and commercially minded and have the energy and interest to pursue a broad array of tasks.
This is a role with great potential for the right candidate to quickly grow their level of responsibility.
What you’ll be doing…
Brand Protection - Assisting with the protection and enforcement of ASOS’ brand and intellectual property rights online, including:
Monitoring and enforcing through our online brand protection platform
Managing our brand protection accounts on various platforms such as market places and social media
Carrying out enforcement activity against infringing uses of ASOS’ brand/ rights online including on auction sites, websites, social media, apps
Conducting desktop investigations / instructing external investigations into potential infringers
Preparing evidence and statements to support enforcement activity
Maintaining and updating internal records and our online brand protection platform
Liaising with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers
Preparing updates for internal stakeholders and preparing reports
Monitoring general online brand protection developments, particularly in the retail sector
Supporting the team with its relationships with platform providers, enforcement agencies, and other brand owners
Communicating with and updating stakeholders who report brand protection issues
Gathering evidence and general assistance on litigation matters from time to time, which may include liaising with members of the retail teams to collate evidence and information about certain products and/or designs
Closely managing costs
Domain Names - Managing the ASOS domain portfolio, including:
Liaising with our tech teams and other relevant stakeholders regarding the ASOS domain portfolio
Answering general queries on the ASOS domain portfolio
Reviewing new gTLDs and ensuring appropriate domains are secured
Placing and managing orders for domains
Preparing actions such as UDRPs, with help from the wider team as appropriate
Updating internal policies and procedures
Attending calls with our registrar and dealing with administrative queries
Conducting gap analysis and auditing the ASOS domain portfolio
Closely managing costs

Previous brand protection/domain experience is crucial
Previous experience working in a fast-growing, agile, adaptable in-house commercial environment preferred
Must be proactive and very organised
Excellent IT skills, with an interest in learning about new tech solutions
Preferred candidates will demonstrate an interest in working in an in-house legal team environment and will be able to demonstrate an interest in brand protection.
