The Opportunity
- Adobe is looking for an attorney to fill a position as Legal Counsel on the North America Digital Experience Licensing Team.
- This position will be based out of Adobe's Lehi, Utah office.
What you'll Do
This attorney will be handling complex commercial contracts, including enterprise software & SaaS licensing agreements. This attorney must be prepared to negotiate and drive strategic transactions, and handle a significant volume of sales/revenue agreements. This attorney will provide counsel to Sales and Sales Management (and possibly other groups, such as the Business Units, Information Security, and Consulting Services teams) on a variety of licensing topics including intellectual property, commercial terms, anti-trust and privacy law. This attorney will be part of a close team that loves to have fun together!
What you need to succeed
- A Juris Doctor degree and membership in any state bar.
- A minimum of 2-5 years of experience drafting and negotiating complex contracts (preferably technology or licensing agreements). Attorneys with 2-4 years of relevant experience may be considered for this role and hired at the Associate Legal Counsel level). Candidates with experience supporting enterprise licensing and sales teams for on-demand services/cloud-based offerings are preferred. Candidates with other relevant technology law experience are also encouraged to apply.
- To be able to work well as part of a diverse team and have a positive, problem solving, and business focused demeanor with the ability to prioritize workload appropriately in a fast-paced environment.
- To be able to jump into the work with limited guidance and work independently. This position will allow candidate to work remotely 2-3 days per week, if desired, so the ability to self motivate and manage schedules and workloads is crucial.
- The ability to understand, draft, review and negotiate a variety of license, professional services and other commercial agreements and documents, including non-disclosure agreements, pre-release agreements, services agreements as well as statements of work, resale, distribution, sales and licensing agreements.
- The ability to provide general commercial legal support to the various business units, including preparing and delivering training in-house, when appropriate, on key legal areas of interest.
- The ability and willingness to train new attorneys or outside counsel.
- Good technical writing skills, as well as a keen interest in and some experience with the software/IT industry.
- Strong social skills, along with the ability to coordinate projects.
- Self-confidence and the ability to provide solutions that balance legal and business concerns.
- To be customer-friendly and an excellent teammate.
- The ability to travel within the United States on a limited basis, as required.
