The Congress Strategy Team is a centralized capability within Medical Affairs that focuses on ensuring a unified medical presence at key medical meetings. This team works across the BMS portfolio in close collaboration with other medical functions to lead and coordinate strategic medical congress activities.
The primary responsibility for the WW Medical Congress Strategy Lead, Cardiovascular, is to work cross functionally to ensure a unified medical congress presence through execution on all pre-, peri-, and post- Medical congress activities for a specific therapeutic area.
Key Responsibilities
Strategize and tailor congress capabilities and incorporate metrics on all medical activities at congresses in a specific therapeutic area (TA)
Works closely with Medical TA Director and Matrix Team members in driving excellence in planning and execution at a congress
Leads customization and utilization of Medical Congress Playbooks to support a specific TA
Maintain annual strategic and prioritized Congress Plan in a specific TA
Ensures smooth execution on all medical activities during the congress
Consolidates, analyze, and disseminates the lessons learned and innovative ideas across the Medical Matrix and Markets in a specific TA
Drives process enhancements to optimize performance and reduce costs across in a specific TA
Leads development and execution of a comprehensive TA Congress Strategy Plan and budget
Prioritizes high-impact initiatives and drive activities that deliver value to customers, with more focused on execution
Works closely with Congress Portfolio Lead and manages to drive strategic and focused planning, execution, and tracking within a specific TA
Qualifications & Experience
Advanced Medical degree with clinical and/or industry experience required (RN, Pharm D, MPH, PhD, MD, MS)
Minimum of 3 years of experience required
Scientific and clinical cardiovascular knowledge preferred
Healthcare landscape knowledge and insight
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Business acumen skills – ability to work effectively with Commercial stakeholders
Effective partnering and collaboration skills
Influencing, persuasion and negotiation skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Project management skills
Problem solving/solutions orientation
Ability to collaborate and cooperate in a complex matrix environment
20%-35% travel to attend key domestic and international congresses
