You will work on the Global Network Team minimizing downtime for Wireless (WiFi) and Local Area Network (LAN) within our Remote Sites and Global Datacenter. You'll maintain adequate redundancy into the network design while ensuring the network performance is aligned with business application requirements. You'll require the ability to analyze, diagnose and support or resolve issues as well as quickly implement changes to support a highly complex enterprise level networks.


What you will do

  • Stay on top of the latest LAN/WiFi technology developments and emerging trends and stay updated on new technologies that Colgate plans to implement to understand and communicate the impact on the Colgate Network. Make recommendations to further develop the LAN/WiFi to ensure these new technologies can be adopted.
  • Tackle problems, guide and actively participate in any LAN P&R issues and/or break-fix issues and resolution, including being on-call to help to maintain agreed upon performance & reliability service levels
  • Lead Global Network Team projects including building project plans, setting landmarks, and coordinating with our preferred vendors to ensure successful and timely implementation
  • Be a technical liaison to Colgate’s network business partners that supply managed services and equipment for our LAN/WAN environment to ensure the integrity of the Colgate network
  • Utilize all network management tools including real-time and trend monitoring, capacity monitoring, system configuration logs and back-ups, authentication database to fix network issues
  • Identify trends & provide improvement recommendations to the LAN/WiFi design, through summaries & analysis of available monitoring reports.
  • Communicate & raise any production issues related to the LAN/WiFi, provide thorough follow up and ensure that root cause is identified and addressed.
  • Provide reports as requested on the overall health of the LAN/WiFi, highlighting issues and making clear recommendations for improvements.
  • Coordinate and make sure maintenance tasks are completed in a timely way along with the necessary testing. Overall, ensure that the systems can be returned to the end users on schedule without any negative impact on performance and reliability and minimize the number of changes made outside of these windows.
  • Identify, support, and implement LAN/WiFi projects for the Global IT Project Grid process that will ensure that Colgate continues to meet operational, production and reliability, and budget targets.
  • Update, Operate, Maintain & Support the LAN/WiFi equipment, Software, Hardware & Wiring.
  • Lead and implement MACD related to LAN/WiFi requirements and CR/IR systems.
  • Assist with hardware inventory and tracking of lease replacement activity, as well as, support contracts for responsible equipment.
  • Maintain and update all related documentation to LAN/WiFi Infrastructure/Wiring design and configuration
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or in equivalent technology field
  • At least 4 years IT Experience
  • Cisco Switching
  • Cisco Wireless
  • Network Design Skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Project Management Skills
  • Self starter who enjoys a challenge

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Experience in a large & complex IT support environment
  • Customer service OR business interaction experience
  • Cisco Networking Training related to Wireless Technologies
  • Experience working with Cisco Prime and/or Cisco Identity Services Engine
  • CCNP - Cisco Certified Network Professional
  • CCNA - Cisco Certified Network Technician
  • Customer service OR business interaction experience
  • Project Budget tracking and management
