Job Description
Operate and monitor processing equipment to control the roll winding and baling operations in the production of dissolving pulp.

Tasks

  • Coordinate and monitor the winding and baling operation from an automated panel board
  • Control the start-up and shut-down of process equipment
  • Monitor equipment and machinery panel indicators, gauges, level indicators and other equipment instruments to detect machinery and equipment malfunctions and ensure process steps are carried out according to specifications
  • Ensure customer specifications for roll / bale quality are met
  • Complete field inspection of equipment resolving noted deficiencies
  • Complete and maintain production reports
  • Assist the Machine Back Tender as needed.

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Functional knowledge of Excel and similar programs. 
  • The ability to understand, comprehend, and make process adjustments
  • Ability to read and understand process measurement techniques utilizing graduated cylinder calibration columns, rotameters, in process line equipment, and tape measure.
  • Ability read and understand setpoints, valve position, and trends.
  • General knowledge and execution of light maintenance required by the process.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to bend, squat, stand, and sit as needed by the process.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs as required by the process.
  • Ability to operate a fork lift or willingness to learn.
  • Exhibit and execute safe working habits that comply the Company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts.
