Job summary

The WHS Management Systems team leads cross-functional projects that requires collaboration and partnership with Amazon businesses, geographical units and technical subject matter experts (SMEs). The projects are focused on initiatives to continually reduce risks and improve network WHS standards and procedures. Individuals gather business requirements, document functional and design specifications, identify appropriate resources needed, assemble the right project team, assign individual responsibilities and develop the milestones and launch schedules to ensure timely and successful delivery of the project. The team members contribute cross-functional business and technical skills, assess and manage risks, measure and report on progress, anticipate and resolve bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs with the technical constraints. They rely heavily on influence over authority to drive project deliverables. This a key risk/program management role responsible for executing per direction, the management of the WW WHS programs (standards, procedures, best practices) development, training and continuous improvement projects. The role involves hands-on work in the areas of understanding stakeholder needs and expectations, WHS regulatory research, global stakeholder engagement, data analytics and document technical writing. Must be self-starter and detail-oriented. Must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Support Japan WHSMS Implementation.
• Undertake risk assessments as required and follow up control measures to completion
• Complete daily metrics and callouts from stakeholders
• Take a Deep Dive into WHS data and furnish trend charts and insights
• Become a subject matter expert in your specific level of competence, while staying vigilant and not disclosing any sensitive information outside of your particular level
• Update internal records regarding WHSMS implementation
• Undertake action plans to ensure continuity is sustained with regards to compliance
• Conduct yourself professionally at all times: you maintain confidentiality in matters involving WHS metrics
• Flexibility on hours worked to cover shifts

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited university (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Environmental/ HSE) with Diploma in industrial safety or equivalent
• Minimum 1 yr Experience
• Business level in Japanese
• Analytical skills with experience using Excel (analysis using aggregate functions and pivot table)
• Good communication skills (both verbal and writing)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• NEBOSH certification or equivalent
• In-depth knowledge and practical skills in applying ISO 9001, ISO14001, ISO 45001 standard and methodology
• Project Management, Scrum, Agile, or equivalent professional certification
• In-depth knowledge and practical skills in applying Lean Six Sigma philosophy and methodology
