POSITION SUMMARY

The Wholesale Marketplace Sr. Sales Advisor is responsible for consulting with clients to help them retain and grow their pharmacy business.  This position is part of the Evernorth Wholesale Marketplace, a dynamic dedicated team servicing other PBMs and other unique clients.  In this role, the candidate will support clients with their pharmacy sales strategy, including but not limited to refining a client’s value prop, financial and pricing support, enhancing market competitiveness, and RFP and finalist support.  The ideal candidate has extensive PBM, Health Plan, and Pharma knowledge to help meet the evolving needs of the Wholesale Marketplace clients.  The Sr. Sales Advisor will need to think strategically and leverage existing market relationships.  In addition to collaborating with the clients’ pharmacy and sales teams, the candidate will work cross functionally with strategy, research, sales, account management, and other Evernorth functional areas as needed.  Come join the Evernorth Wholesale Marketplace team and be a part of one of the fastest growing divisions in the organization, where you can be the strategic advisor helping to drive clients’ pharmacy sales growth.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Go-to-market Strategy

  • Client facing to assist in building & telling their PBM or Health Plan pharmacy story
  • Gathering, analyzing, and disseminating of market competitive intelligence
  • Day-to-day contact in supporting the overall strategy and initiatives
  • Daily engagement with the clients’ pharmacy & sales executives
  • Build & maintain relationships with clients, consultants, brokers, and throughout the enterprise

Growth/Retention Strategy

  • Create and execute action plan for each opportunity
  • Assist with pharmacy sales bid process; including the coordination of kick-off meeting, bid responses, overall RFP evaluation, recommendations and improvements
  • Conduct analysis and identify key opportunities, including additional product upsell
  • Build, manage, and rank top prospect list
  • Assist with finalist preparation and participation
  • Ability to discuss financials for various client specific opportunities/challenges
  • Create, collaborate and maintain broker engagement process (interview pre and post sales cycle, updates, invites, win/loss tracking)
  • Review and deliver reporting as needed and recommended solutions
  • Kick off plan/solution modeling as needed
  • Maintain complete knowledge of the client contract

Tracking/Analysis

  • Salesforce documentation of meetings and opportunities.
  • Maintain tracking of win/loss, bids, group and broker insights
  • Document all renewal dates for groups and target prospect hit list
  • Track timeliness/work flow for all in-house RFPs

This role is Flex/WFH which allows most work to be performed at home or on occasion at a Cigna office location. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS OR equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of sales/business development experience
  • Ability to work independently and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Knowledge of healthcare consulting industry dynamics
  • Strong presentation skills with articulate, clear messaging
  • Experience and comfort level in communicating with VP level and C-level contacts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tool preferred
  • Ability to compile, analyze, and report on common sales metrics
  • Detail oriented with strong project management skills
  • Demonstrate strategic business decision making experience
  • Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of the healthcare and PBM industry
  • Pharma insight and rebate expertise
  • Strong focus on book of business client satisfaction and client retention results
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 15%

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $112,700 - $187,800, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
