Position: Wheelchair Specialist

Location: South West

Salary: £26,000 - £34,000 depending on experience (plus uncapped commission). Wheelchair Knowledge isn't mandatory as full training would be considered for the right applicant.

Hours: Full Time 40 hrs per week Monday - Friday, flexible

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Wheelchair Specialist to join our busy team in providing assessments & prescribing Wheelchairs to customers across the specified area. Whilst some experience in assessing and prescribing manual and powered wheelchairs would be desirable it is not essential as full training will be given.

The role would suit someone who has previously worked as a rehab engineer or someone who has worked within the mobility industry.

You will have a caring personality with a motivated and enthusiastic approach to work. You will also need to have the ability to organise your own itinerary to best manage the leads that will be supplied to you daily.

Wheelchair Specialist duties include but not limited to:

  • Assess, setup and demonstrate the use of specialist mobility equipment
  • Deliver equipment to customers and provide them with in-depth information about the product, ensuring that service user has a clear understanding of how to use their product safely and correctly.
  • Assess, analyse, diagnose any faults and repair work safely adhering to the guidelines.
  • Ensure all KPI targets are met.
  • Maintain, clean and keep secure all demonstration stock.
  • Build relationships, working with colleagues across the business to ensure all opportunities are explored.
  • Fully compliant with all relevant mandatory training as and when required, including product awareness and commercial movements within the marketplace.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key suppliers in order to ensure their continued support.
  • Maintain best practices, competition and industry trends.
  • Drive company vehicles only after successfully completing a driver assessment and meeting the required standard. Ensuring that driving skills and knowledge remain current.
  • Adhere to all relevant company procedures and policies.

Wheelchair Specialist desirable Keys Skills and competencies:

  • Good problem-solving skill.
  • Experience in general repair, maintenance and knowledge of wheelchairs.
  • Experience (personal, paid or voluntary) of working with people (adults and children) including those with complex disabilities.
  • Ability to manage conflict and challenging behaviours
  • Experience of working with mobility equipment and knowledge of manual, powered wheelchairs and adaption of wheelchairs.
  • Ability to use own initiative with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Highly motivated and target driven with proven track record in B2C sales
  • Effective selling and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communicator. Both written and verbal communication.
  • Prioritising, time management and organisational skills
  • A good understanding of Health and Safety practices.
  • To hold a current, a full UK valid driving licence. Experience in driving a company vehicle is preferred.
