Working within a bustling atmosphere as part of passionate team this role as a Welcome & Service Assistant, plays a core part in providing fantastic customer service.
Hours: 30 hours per week. Regular weekend and bank holiday working will be required through the summer season (April to the end of September)
Duration: this is a 6 month contract from when you start the role.
You will be based at Saddlescombe Farm office on the Devil’s Dyke Estate, right in the heart of the South Downs. You will be working in our Welcome Team and will be part of the wider South Downs property portfolio.
You'll work with a dedicated team of Welcome volunteers, ensuring that a culture of ‘exceptional service, every time for everyone’ is delivered to our one million visitors a year. You'll work within the Welcome Team and alongside a team of Countryside Rangers who work within the 3000-acre Devil’s Dyke estate, an area of superb chalk grassland, woodland, and archaeological richness right in the heart of the South Downs National Park. You will be supported by the operations team and line managed by the Welcome Manager.
As the largest conservation charity in Europe we work hard to raise funds, so that we can continue to care for all the heritage in our trust. Visitors are a vital part of what we do, so you’ll be responsible for ensuring that you provide an excellent service to all our visitors, every day. As a Welcome & Service Assistant, it’s your role to ensure that the welcome our visitors receive is perfect, setting them up for an amazing experience for the rest of the day.
You will be the public ‘face’ of the National Trust and will be our ambassador, helping our visitors connect with the landscape, and understand how they can help and support us in our vital conservation work.
The job will entail promoting our estate and raising funds for our work. This will through a mixture of:
1. Working from our information van at Devil’s Dyke providing local information and involving families in nature engagement activities.
2. Working at onsite and offsite events, such as local fairs
