Our team of Welcome and Service Assistants is essential in helping our visitors enjoy their time at Flatford.
Some days will be quiet, allowing you time to get to know the site and spend time with our visitors, whilst other days will be busy and you’ll talk to hundreds of visitors, helping them with their queries. Whatever the day, your focus will be on delivering exceptional customer service to all our visitors and sharing your passion for Flatford.
This is an hourly paid, fixed term role and has a flexible working pattern. Your weekly shifts may vary from 4 hours to 24 hours per week, depending on operational requirements and the time of year. Most shifts will start by 10am and end by 4pm. Regular weekend and bank holiday working will be required.
At Flatford, you'll be working as part of a friendly team of staff and volunteers. We have teams who manage the food and beverage and retail outlets as well as a countryside team who look after the beautiful landscape. You will be joining the Welcome Team, who work across the site with all departments to make sure visitors get the most from their visit. Much of your day will be spent outside, moving between areas and talking to visitors of all ages.
As a Welcome & Service Assistant, it’s your role to ensure that the welcome our visitors receive is perfect, setting them up for an amazing experience for the rest of the day.
You’ll work across the site, including in our Welcome Hut, near Bridge Cottage or in the overflow car park. You may be asked to help with property programming, lending a hand with events and on-site activities as necessary. We also run a rowing boat hire business, so you may be asked to help out here time to time too.
You’ll be responsible for answering queries and making sure visitors can find everything they need for their visit.
You'll need to have the following skills and experience:
