Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Weekend Shift Manufacturing Engineering Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The selected candidate will lead a team of weekend shift production manufacturing engineers and production planners supporting aircraft manufacturing (composite layup, cure, machining, assembly, metallic assembly, and subsystems). This position is located at our Clearfield, Utah facility.
Responsibilities:
Manage a team of weekend shift production manufacturing engineers that directly support the production floor
Provide guidance to the team regarding technical solutions, business processes, and best practices
Drive timely and clearly communicated decisions and recommendations
Interface with supporting departments to ensure production technical issues are resolved in a quality and timely manner
Identify process improvements, capture feedback from Operations, and flow recommendations to the process engineering team
Selected candidate will manage day shift and night shift engineers that work Friday – Sunday on a 3/12 schedule
The selected candidate should steadfastly push self and others to achieve program goals, feel comfortable providing customer overviews and presentations. Be an advocate for a safe and professional work environment. Candidate must be comfortable/able to effectively maneuver through political situations and anticipate roadblocks, as well as be comfortable in an environment that provides challenging, stretching tasks and assignments to key talent in the organization during the designated shift(s).
Basic Qualifications:
Active Secret DoD Clearance within 5 ½ years of last investigation
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM)
5 or more years of experience in aerospace or aviation manufacturing.Note:An additional 4 years of relevant manufacturing work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Ability to obtain a Special Program access prior to commencement of employment
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience leading or managing engineers or production planners
Experience with aircraft composites layup, cure processes, trim processes, and complex aerospace assemblies
Understanding of configuration management best practices
Prior experience writing manufacturing planning in an aerospace environment
Prior experience with MRB business processes and repairs in an aircraft manufacturing environment
Strong experience with aerospace business systems (SAP, CostPoint, Teamcenter, MRP software, ERP software)
Experience in leadership of teams in resolving complex technical issues
Experience in NX 11 or higher
Preference will be given to applicants already possessing a SAP clearance
Salary Range: $102,500 USD - $153,700 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
