About the role:

We’d like to meet an engaged and passionate engineer to join the ASOS Technology Web team. The ideal candidate would like to work with cutting edge technology to help us build the ultimate experience for our fashion conscious 20-somethings. Our website receives over 280 million visits per month, reaching out to more than 24 million active customers. You will have the opportunity to join a group of highly talented individuals who are at the top of their game and set the best practices in everything they do.

We’d like to meet someone with the following experience: 

• HTML, CSS, JavaScript 

• Creating reusable components across micro frontends 

• Identifying site issues and customer journeys using analytics and MVT  

• JavaScript fundamentals and modern syntax 

• Modern JavaScript frameworks 

• Bonus points for React/Redux 

• Node.js for server-side rendering, building micro services  

• Building automated acceptance tests 

• Bonus points for Cypress and WebDriver.io frameworks 

• Writing unit tests following TDD 

• Software craftsmanship using engineering fundamentals 

• SOLID, KISS, DRY and YAGNI, writing secure code 

• Contributing to and maintaining an inner source GitHub repo 

• CI / CD pipelines including Docker workflows 

• HTTP and working with CDNs, cloud technologies 

• Bonus points for Azure and Kubernetes 

• Building and maintaining user interfaces that support multiple devices and browsers 

• Including accessibility standards compliance and SEO 

• Web application performance best practices 

• Supporting critical applications by using logging and monitoring 

• Working in agile teams 

• Agile & lean practices including XP and pair programming 

• Supporting the engineering community
