Job Summary:

Plans and coordinates the prompt delivery of inbound and outbound deliveries within the warehouse.  Ensures all activities match the supply and demand of product within the warehouse.  Expedites activities to ensure that material flow is efficient and minimize adjustments to orders.  Directly supervises non-exempt employees. 

Position Responsibilities

Inventory Function

  • Supervise receipt and input of all inventory changes originating from shipping and receiving product and the subsequent information dissemination to the departments and corporate headquarters to assure inventory accuracy.   
  • Verify all adjustments made by inventory control clerks.
  • Participate in yearly physical inventory; both in planning and implementation.
  • Supervise the necessary adjustments of book inventories. 
  • Conduct daily cycle inventory. Utilize reporting tools to ensure Cycle Counts, as well as, site specific policies are complete as required.
  • Ability to interchange between various inventory systems.  Facilitate the vicissitude nature of the local independent distribution center.
  • Reconcile off-site inventories and verify invoices from storage companies monthly.
  • Responsible for order/cancellation/return process for vendor pallet inventory.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels according to set trailer pool, receipts of pallets from service center and vendors into SAP.
  • Responsible for planning and implementation of vendor annual physical inventory.
  • Complete vendor weekly ITL reconciliation.
  • Maintain spreadsheet for rejected pallets and loads.
  • Reconciling Inbound Delivery “Packets”
  • Collect unused handling units and worksheets from production team leads.
  • Verify all unused items have been accounted for and resolve issues with missed scans
  • Communicate with inventory control specialists or warehouse team leads to locate all un-scanned items.
  • Run bin status reports to assist in finding un-scanned items.
  • Run inbound delivery monitor reports to verify inbound deliveries have been accounted for and completed.
  • Schedule Outbound Shipments and Inbound Deliveries
  • Monitor and schedule outbound shipment/inbound delivery requests.
  • Verify available inventory and shipping material and confirm pick-up appointments
  • Communicate with Warehouse Dock Specialists and Supervisors to determine best time slots and capacity issues.
  • Follow up on late or no show appointments.
  • Communicate and maintain good rapport with carriers and customers.
  • Communicate and follow up on issues with customer service representatives, Deployers, and transportation load planners.
  • Send daily updates to carriers informing them of preloaded trailers.
  • Update database of scheduled orders and distribute schedule in spreadsheet form to group.

Position Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Minimum 3 years warehouse experience required, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience controlling and maintaining records of materials in inventory, reconciling discrepancies, compiling information on receipt or disbursement of inventory, organizing company inventory in an accurate and efficient manner and controlling all system-related transactions that pertain to inventory.
  • Must be PC literate: Use of SAP and MS Office computer programs are required.
  • Computer experience utilizing inventory tracking software to effectively monitor and track a high volume of internal and external inventory transactions.
  • Good math aptitude and attention to detail are required
  • Ability to handle multiple situations at one time.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, monitors own work to ensure quality.
  • Must be able to perform the duties performed by the employees they lead.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems and equipment.
  • Knowledge of the operation of power/mobile equipment; may require additional training and/or certification on additional power equipment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule is a plus (start shift early and/or stay until the work is complete.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.  The employee frequently is required to stand and walk.  The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; taste and smell.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee will be exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
