In this role, the Lead Infrastructure Vulnerability Remediation Engineer will aid in driving the execution of the ongoing Infrastructure Vulnerability Remediation program to reduce security risks for Truist Insurance. This role supports the strategy to govern, analyze, prioritize, and drive the execution of infrastructure vulnerability remediation, increasing Truist’s security posture. The position will help define the requirements and roadmap for remediation with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver solutions and evangelize the vision to strengthen the security posture within Truist.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Vulnerability Management team and business customers to deliver on business expectations, timelines, budgets, and ensure impacts are communicated early and often in a fast-paced environment, with frequent changes in priority.
  • Act as a technical expert across a broad range of infrastructure, network, cloud, and third-party vendors to ensure solutions meet the operational and security policies and standards of Truist.
  • Work to maintain global security standards, guidelines, metrics, and implement processes and procedures to ensure an acceptable risk level is maintained with adherence to a recognized framework.
  • Review daily vulnerability data to identify and prioritize vulnerabilities and exposures.
  • Utilize data collected in analysis tool to rank, identify severity level and plan short- and long-term remediation and proactive countermeasures and controls.
  • Research capabilities with intellectual curiosity and critical thinking to determine the best ways to prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities and threats within the Truist infrastructure.
  • Continuously drive to improve remediation processes and team skillsets via automation for maximum efficiency and reliability.
  • Maintain and provide a detailed register of all open vulnerabilities, exceptions, and remediation actions to ensure constant improvement of the discovered risk surface.


QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

  • 1. Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in development or application support or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 2. In- depth knowledge in information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices.
  • 3. Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function.
  • 4. Ability to plan and manage projects.
  • 5. Ability to solve complex problems by applying best practices.
  • 6. Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates.
  • 7. Ability to interpret and convey complex, difficult, or sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications/Technical Skills:

  • Familiar with cybersecurity products including, but not limited to:  Kenna, Qualys, ForcePoint, Qradar, Tanium, Active Directory, VPN, Venafi, CyberArk, SCCM, CrowdStrike, Splunk, SCOM, and PowerShell
  • Strong technical skills, including infrastructure and applications:  Windows OS, VMWare VSphere/VCenter, Active Directory, Cisco UCS platform, Nutanix, MSFT Azure
