The Role

Are you a motivated client facing professional with a demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships and collaborate with sophisticated institutional clients? Help us grow our institutional business and strengthen relationships with Registered Investment Advisors (RIA) clients in Fidelity Institutional’s Client Relationship Group (CRG) organization. Fidelity Institutional is a leading provider of product, platform and technology solutions to registered investment advisors (RIAs), Family Offices, retirement recordkeepers, broker-dealer firms, banks and insurance companies. We help our institutional clients thrive by growing their business, more optimally meeting customer needs, and enhancing operational efficiency and profitability. This role is a key driver in pursuing Fidelity Institutional’s vision to become a dominant player in the platform economy.

The Expertise We’re Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree required.

10+ years of direct client and/or financial services experience in a Sales and/or Relationship Management function.

Deep understanding of the organizational structure of an RIA – including service, technology, investment, and back-office operations.

Direct experience in RIA, Custody or Brokerage industry.

Consultative background to drive client business transformation.

Experience with consultative selling methods a plus.

Series 7 and 63 licenses required within 90 days of accepting role.

The Purpose of Your Role:

The ideal candidate will partner with existing and new client relationships with responsibility for creating, fostering, and maintaining these key relationships. The RM will be accountable for overall client satisfaction, increasing assets, introducing Fidelity Institutional services and products, growing revenue, and increasing overall profitability for each relationship. In this role you will proactively work to develop a detailed understanding of client goals and challenges by building deep relationships and by asking the right questions at the right time. You will also spend time thinking critically about key topics including industry trends, products, platforms and client opportunities and sharing better practices with your peers and clients. With your knowledge and commitment, you will become a collaborative and resourceful member of the Central Region team driving successful regional results.

The Skills You Bring:

Ability to build and handle relationships with demanding and sophisticated clients, at all levels of the organization including with the highest level of decision makers.

Ability to set a strategic direction for clients which demonstrates ultimate ownership and accountability for the relationship.

Track record of forming relationships with clients and prospects in face-to-face meetings, virtual, phone based and/or email interactions.

Financial business analysis and/or consulting experience.

Institutional brokerage operations experience.

Strong communicator in both written and verbal formats.

Strong at multi-tasking, project management with utmost attention to detail.

Ability to identify and handle at risk situations.

You are comfortable in changing environments and known for easily adapting to new technologies and workflows.

Validated ability to develop and implement business plans that prioritize key initiatives and drive business results.

Interest in and an understanding of financial markets.

Understand how to appropriately delegate work and prioritize time.

Ability to provide various options while formulating a specific recommendation.

Ability to build and bring to bear internal and external networks.

Travel is required.

Provide overall client accountability and book management of a portfolio of clients.

Prioritize clients accurately and develop territory management strategies.

Provide proactive consultations to senior individuals within each relationship by clearly prioritizing a strategic plan and objectives. Develop true partnerships by helping clients successfully lead and build their business while improving the business relationship.

Conduct comprehensive quarterly and/or annual relationship reviews. Fully understand and develop solutions for client needs by working with client service managers on resolutions for issues.

Stay knowledgeable of changes and trends in the marketplace acquired from clients, activities, and industry research. Be an active contributor to our collective intelligence to better serve our clients and make recommendations for product/service improvements.

Grow assets under administration (AUA) and find opportunities to convert to assets under management (AUM) by working closely with sales and the investment teams.

Accurately identify, plan, influence, and implement Fidelity solutions.

Establish and demonstrate value and differentiation from our competitors.

Responsible for documenting client activities, business opportunities and all communications with clients in the CRM on a timely basis.

Develop referrals from existing client relationships.

Monitor trends impacting client satisfaction within your book of business, including competitive, industry, and marketplace data. Develop a response plan to maintain or improve client satisfaction.
