The Vice President of Reconditioning directly contributes to the establishment of business strategies for the Wholesale and Retail Reconditioning that have a long term (2-3 year) impact on the

organization. Identifying how the strategic direction will be achieved by setting short- and long-term goals

and objectives; by analyzing qualitative and quantitative data; and generating options to achieve a long

range and short-term vision.

Actively gathers and leverages information to understand current and emerging client business priorities. Also, identifies barriers that impact client service and retention. Sets priorities and makes decisions that

consider client impact; measures the client experience and retention to ensure that client solutions,

practices and procedures are carried out and achieve their objectives.

Actively engages in supporting change and innovation by communicating the future-state, trying groundbreaking approaches and collaborating with others to make the change successful. Creates

momentum by taking immediate action and encouraging others to act to improve organizational culture,

processes or products/services; offers resources and direction to support implementation; breaks down

cultural and operational barriers to change.

Translates strategies and initiatives into actions, determining action steps and milestones required for implementation. Communicates to engage others establishing two-way communication channels to convey

business strategies and plans; engages people by helping them understand the reasons behind

organizational initiatives. Creates accountability by ensuring that those responsible for implementing a

strategic initiative have role clarity and accountability. Measures progress by establishing criteria and

systems (including lead and lag measures) to track ongoing progress toward goals.

Engage the Partner Companies, Vendors and our Clients

Collaborate closely with Manheim Auction and CAI senior leadership, leveraging these

relationships and gained insight to set divisional strategy, direction, and support.

Leverage partnership with other Cox Automotive business units (i.e. AT, KBB, Software division,

& others) to ensure they are aligned with the vision and goals of Manheim Retail & Wholesale

Solutions and assist in introduction of innovative solutions and products to enhance client

experience, grow market share, and provide end-to-end solutions for our clients.

Influence change across Manheim NA & CAI, and architect change initiatives at the Division level

based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to feedback, competitive forces, etc.

Partner with Product and IT leadership to align on projects impacting Vehicle Solutions

Ensure consistent client experience and value proposition across the entire spectrum of Manheim

portfolio by establishing and cultivating relationships with key Commercial and Dealer clients and

understanding their needs and success factors

Manage and lead the relationship with our 3rd Party Sublet Vendors which will include setting

performance expectations and goals, measure the performance matrix and manage training and

service expectations.

Cultivate, lead, and communicate with our partner companies to ensure they stay on track with

team member training, technology, revenue targets and applicable integration.

Demonstrates flexibility and creative thinking when forming strategies and solution for clients and

creates solutions that go beyond current/existing boundaries and goals of the division.

Enables the leadership team to question assumptions and adapt quickly to shifting business

priorities based on our client expectations.

Lead & Develop Teams

Strategically lead and influence teams of leaders and project managers in the matrix organization

across many functional areas and business units including but not limited to Operation Support,

Process Engineering, Product Development, Marketing, etc. to achieve the goals of both

Wholesale and Retail divisions under the Vehicle Solution organization.

Partner with Training and Technology organization to create appropriate learning curriculums &

technology platforms for all job families that fall under the influence of this position and ensure the

adaption by all team members.

Effectively lead the leadership team by setting an example in behavior, championing

Cox/Manheim values and ensuring that all team members are treated with respect; create a

proteam member work environment.

Ensure implementation and compliance of all Manheim's & Cox Automotive policies, procedures,

team member/client conduct and standards in all areas of the auction.

Visibly demonstrate commitment to safety & security by following all safety, health & security

procedures, Safety Excellence standards, and modeling the behaviors related to such. Implement

and maintain security and safety related procedures and processes in partnership with Market

and Corporate Business Partners, this includes complying with all OSHA, EPA and State or local

safety and compliance regulations.

Work closely with all leaders across matrix organization to ensure that all team members have

quantifiable performance goals, receive a written performance review and that rewards are linked

to these appraisals; and ensure that performance is managed at all levels throughout the year.

Work with HR to develop a strategy to recruit individuals for various levels of the organizationfrom top leadership positions to hourly position requiring necessary skillsets while at the same

time, creating an environment attractive to experienced professionals.

Strategic Planning and Driving Business and Financial Results

Partner with Mobility Business Leaders on current/ future initiatives to include fleet management,

ADAS and electric vehicles.

Develop and implement long-range strategies for driving market share and revenue growth in the

division, achievable through high-level goals, corporate objectives, and strategic initiatives.

Influence financial and operational targets for regions in the division and enable the successful

achievement of those targets by providing the necessary tools and levers.

Prepare, implement and monitor annual budget plans; review financial performance against

assigned targets.

Evaluate overall capacity utilization at all Wholesale and Retail Reconditioning centers across

Manheim, current client mix, and future client demands. Set strategy as appropriate to grow

overall reconditioning transactions through the shops.

Provide strategic leadership for the development and implementation of consistent processes,

products and necessary technology solutions related to all Retail and Wholesale services related

to inspections, reconditioning, vehicle information, imaging and other services. This may include

planning strategic projects around process and technology redesign.

Lead strategic planning and development of products related to inventory planning, vehicle

sourcing & acquisition, vehicle valuation, and disposal/arbitration.

Perform and manage complex analysis to determine process improvement opportunities, evaluate

alternatives and prioritize redesign efforts.

Strategically forecast annual volumes, plan and monitor staffing levels to ensure productivity,

quality work product, and effective client service; review departmental performance against key

performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics and develop and execute strategies to achieve and

maintain operational productivity, budgets and quality goals related to Vehicle Solutions

Perform other duties as assigned by senior leadership.

Compensation:

Compensation includes a base salary of $244,720 – 305,900. Salary may vary outside of the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's experience.

Position is eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Economics, or equivalent

required; MBA preferred.

10+ years managerial experience in positions with increasing responsibilities required

7+ years’ experience in a senior leadership role required

7+ experience in the Automotive or Auction industry required

Effective and competent management, leadership and organizational skills required.

Knowledge of sales building initiatives, P&L and the ability to act decisively based on sound

judgment.

Ability to achieve business results through influence, executive presence, strategic thinking, and

effective problem-solving skills.
