The Isle of Wight Portfolio are looking for a new Visitor Operations & Experience Manager to join us here at the National Trust.
Based across the island with an office in Mottistone, this is a rare opportunity to take a senior position leading the visitor operations team to provide a first class visitor experience, ensuring the smooth running of all our sites and planning for future success.
This is a permanent, full-time contract working 37.5 hours per week. Relocation package available!

The National Trust looks after some of the most iconic sites on the Isle of Wight including the Needles, Bembridge Windmill, Newtown Nature Reserve, Compton Bay and Mottistone Manor to name but a few. A total of 5,500 acres, 4 pay for entry sites, a number of farms and 17 holiday cottages make it one of the most diverse portfolios in the Trust.
It’s an exciting time to join us as we’ll be implementing a multi-million pound visitor infrastructure, welcoming more visitors than ever to our sites and continuous improvement on our welcome, presentation and interpretation standards.
You'll be a senior member of the team, with overall responsibility for the visitor team and will report directly to the General Manager, deputising on occasion. You'll manage both staff and volunteers and be responsible for delivering an enjoyable, safe, and accessible visitor experience across all our sites to inspire and inform. With your team, you’ll be designing and delivering year-round events, working in partnership with key stakeholders and colleagues. You'll also be leading on marketing and communication, budgetary control for the visitor department and also financial and strategic planning.
