Overview

This position is responsible for influencing the activities related to the pricing of our products and management of trade spend.  The scope of responsibilities include: developing guardrails and governing policy on pricing/support usage and internal marketing funds, developing corporate KPIs and scorecards to review performance against these metrics, and elevating the organization’s capabilities related to price aptitude and skillset on pricing fundamentals, profit management, pricing analytics and ROI on trade spend.  This role will contribute to thought leadership in revenue management and drive pricing and trade spend effectiveness.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Use critical thinking to draw upon professional experiences, market and industry knowledge, data, intuition, and then apply to set the direction and execute against the Revenue Management vision
  • Align and build organizational capabilities (people, processes, systems, and incentives) designed to achieve long-term objectives/strategy to optimize revenue and profitability
  • Design and implement processes and governance to provide transparency to and drive accountability of our pricing practices and trade spend management
  • Actively lead the development and delivery of tools and training to improve capabilities of strategic price planning and measurement of spend effectiveness
  • Analyze external price, promo and trade trends (customer, consumer and competitor) and internal financials (e.g., pricing, trade spend) to make recommendations that will profitably drive growth across price, trade, promotions and assortment
  • Evaluate price structures and tactics to design optimal pricing strategies that lead to consistent, efficient and profitable execution in the markets
  • Provide and build organizational decision support capabilities to drive resource allocation against value driving activities
  • Influence and drive change management with senior corporate and market leads

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or quantitative field
  • 15+ years of experience with an emphasis on commercial experience, pricing, and financial analysis
  • Strong technical and analytic skills with demonstrated ability to aggregate, model, assess, draw and recommend conclusions from multiple commercial and financial data sets, e.g. syndicated data (Nielsen / IRI), sales history, and financial data
  • Demonstrated thorough knowledge of the capabilities of transaction and reporting systems including, but not limited to SAP, Business Warehouse, TM1, or other local systems
  • Demonstrated strategic capability and proven experience in data analysis with solid understanding of financial impact of pricing strategies/tactics
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills – ability to express ideas clearly, concisely and effectively; listens to and responds appropriately to others; presents ideas and recommendations in ways that influence the beliefs and decisions of others and inspires them to action
  • Ability to take a proactive approach in initiating action steps and managing ambiguity
  • Must be a strategic thinker with confidence and speed in execution
  • CPG industry experience (Alcohol Beverage desired); supplier and wholesaler experience a plus
  • Ability to travel overnight, approximately 50%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in business related field
  • Ability to work effectively across functions and organizational levels to achieve desired goals
  • Expert knowledge of trade promotion effectiveness and efficiency; strong candidate will have both consumer pricing and trade analytics expertise
  • Experience participating/leading projects supporting sales and marketing initiatives

  • Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine
  • Physical demands with activity or condition may include occasional to rare amount of time include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 15lbs
