The Role

The Fidelity Enterprise Infrastructure (EI) Production Support team is seeking a technology Vice President executive with strong competency in delivering enterprise class solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for the operational and engineering services required to support our Brokerage Technology area. In addition to strong technical competency, the position requires the ability to effectively lead a geographically complementary team, build and demonstrate client relationships, and provide entrepreneurial thought leadership. The role can be based in Durham, NC, Merrimack, NH, Covington, KY or Boston, MA.

VP of Production Support will support Engineering and Systems Operational support for Business Unit aligned functions including Application Support, Cloud Enablement, Helpdesk, Environment Management, Mid-tier & Web Operations, Mainframe Support, Platform Engineering and Voice Operations. By demonstrating and promoting Fidelity and agile leadership behaviors, you will evolve and sustain an innovative agile culture.

The position reports to the Sr Vice President / Head of SRE & Production Support

The Expertise and The Skills You Bring

15+ years of experience in Engineering and Operational Support leadership in the financial services industry

Competency in using large organizational structure and relationships in delivering on sophisticated programs

Experience in Web/cloud application engineering and design

Capable of working with and influencing individuals at all organizational levels

Experience in building and leading Lean / Agile based technology delivery teams (DevOps)

Champion of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles

Experience in constructing Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery technologies and processes.

Significant experience in leading large, technical program portfolios

Must bring detailed execution and results in a role of organizational navigator and collaborator

Expertise in developing and reviewing business cases as it relates to new or significantly enhanced initiatives impacting the service offering

Experience in Internal/External Cloud environments

Experience in Hybrid environments

Executive Management – The ability to navigate sophisticated relationships, forge partnerships, and develop solutions which provide ‘win win’ outcomes

Operational Stability – Responsible for maintaining the quality and stability of the business line technology platforms.

Program Management – The ability to lead large scale programs, balancing execution, budgets, risk, compliance and client expectations.

Written and Verbal Communication – Strong competency in expressing complex issues in a clear and concise manner, the ability to drive a message designed to compel thinking and action.

Team Management – Demonstrate a consistent record of developing talent and cultivating winning teams.

An inspiring leader who can bring emerging technology and processes together drive efficiency and competitive advantage

Deep knowledge on Cloud Support, capabilities surrounding SRE pillars such as Observability, Automation, Resiliency

Ability to partner with business and other technical leadership to define program goals and roadmap, deliver a portfolio of projects aligned with strategic goals, and ensure program budget is strategically invested and handled with due diligence

Establish technology frameworks that can be used to drive a common, core set of services and optimize technology delivery

Leads the IT cost structure and global workforce model – focus on hourly rate and efficiency of workforce.

Collaborates across the firm with key business partners including HR, Finance, Supplier Management, Global Business Services, EI Central PMO

Always has “the Domain” prepared for key meetings (Strategic Program Review, CIO Level Reviews, Workplace Efficiency and Executive Operating Reviews)

We are seeking a candidate who is a data driven, process-oriented thought leader with the ability to bring disparate processes together to drive efficiency; and who has the ability to partner with business and other technical associates to define project goals and delivery roadmaps (small to complex sized efforts).

In addition, candidates who possess the following aptitudes are preferred:

Strong analytical skills with a focus on Continued Improvement through data analysis techniques

Agile / flexible attitude and ability to lead the team in Agile principles

Strong communication skills and customer focus.

Appreciates challenges requiring investigation and assessment

Inquisitive in nature (seeks to understand why and challenges the “status quo”)

Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, and is comfortable making pitches to senior executives

Can navigate complex relationships, forge critical partnerships, influence effectively, and develop solutions which result in “win-win” outcomes.

Experience analyzing, supervising and leading budgets and resourcing needs across numerous products, services and programs.

Ability to acquire, synthesize and interpret program and project data into executive themes, strategies and performance measurements.

Must bring flawless execution and results in role of organizational navigator and collaborator.

Expertise in developing and reviewing business cases as it relates to new or significantly enhanced initiatives impacting a product or portfolio.

Possess dynamic energy and enterprise-wide thinking used to create a positive business climate.
