Job Description

Highcroft Referrals

Board-certified or Board-eligible Medical Oncologist – Highcroft Referrals, Bristol, UK

Due to expansion of our busy oncology service, and the imminent move to a bespoke new hospital with state-of-the-art linear accelerator, we are now seeking an additional medical oncologist to join our cancer treatment service and help develop the service we offer to our patients. Our current team consists of one board-certified medical oncologist and an intern, supported by a highly-skilled nursing team and a comprehensive team of board-certified specialists in internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, neurology, anaesthesia, diagnostic imaging, orthopaedics, dermatology, and ophthalmology. These are exciting times for Highcroft Referrals and we plan to make Highcroft a leading veterinary cancer-centre, with addition of a second medical oncologist, a radiation oncologist, a residency program and a dedicated nurse-led chemotherapy clinic in 2022.

Our facilities include MRI (1.5T), CT (16 Slice), video-endoscopy (GI, airway, arthroscopy, laparoscopy, thoracoscopy) DR digital radiography, ultrasonography, as well as digital fluoroscopy for interventional cardiology and radiology. The new hospital will include an Elekta 6MV Linac, capable of intensity-modulated and stereotactic treatment.

We are currently based in Southwest Bristol, and in Spring 2022 our new hospital (for more information click here) will open close to the M49 motoway in Avonmouth (North of the city, with excellent travel links to Wales, the Southwest, Central and Southern England). This is a beautiful and affordable area of the country in which to work, catering for city and country-lovers alike. Highcroft has a very strong team spirit and cases are managed in a collegiate manner. Quality of life for staff is very important with full-time specialists typically working a 4-day week; part-time and flexible working practice can also be accommodated. A split role between clinic duties and telemedicine service for the CVS group can also be considered. A very competitive remuneration package is available for the right candidate.

If you would like to know more about this exciting position we would be delighted to hear from you. Please send expressions of interest to referrals@highcroftvet.co.uk for the attention of Owen Davies and Paul Higgs, or apply here.
