The VCS Consultant Clinician responds to contacts to VCS from veterinary healthcare providers and Hill’s employees. This position acts independently to provide technical services as it relates to nutritional counseling, Hill’s product support and diagnostic assistance and case management. This position reinforces the appropriate usage, awareness and endorsement of Hill’s products in dietary management. In addition, this position receives feedback from Hill’s customers and communicates that feedback to the company.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Consults with practicing veterinarians and technicians that contact Hill’s
• Provides individual case consultations, answers questions about clinical & general nutrition, & accurate use of all Hill’s products.
• Acts as a source of nutritional expertise and education, helping veterinarians understand the clinical benefits of Hill’s products
• Promotes & details Hill’s products, helping veterinarians understand relevant product messages & benefits
• Answers technical questions and offers solutions for using Hill’s products in veterinary practices
• Identifies trends & issues related to product efficiency and shares information & feedback to the Hill’s Marketing and R&D teams
• Aligns educational efforts with Hill’s Professional Veterinary Affairs and Veterinary Partnership Managers
• Supervises email and online case submissions, as advised, and provides appropriate responses in a timely fashion.

Education/ Experience Requirements

Basic qualifications include: DVM or equivalent with current license

Preferred qualifications include: Prior practice experience of 3 years or more, advanced training in nutrition and/or internal medicine

Expected Areas of Skills

• Ability to work in a high volume consulting environment
• Proficient in typing to document calls
• Proficient in Google Suites, MS Word and Excel
• Excellent mentor and counseling skills
• Positive relationship building and collaboration skills
• Ability to sit and view a computer monitor for a continuous period of up to 2 hours

Travel Requirements

Expected percentage of travel: Up to 10%
