Job purpose

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for â€œdynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Validation Technician.  The Validation Technician will support environmental testing for power electronics and/or engine control programs. This includes but is not limited to validation test set-up, including product connections and test chamber programming according to the provided test plan, test execution, interim functional test execution, report summaries and documentation.  Some physical labor to put products into, and to remove products from, the test chambers.  Interact and take direction from other department engineers and managers.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform environmental validation life testing
  • Perform interim electrical parametric testing
  • Interpret customer/internal test specifications
  • Gather and document test results
  • Support general equipment repair and maintenance
  • Follow company policies and housekeeping

What we’re looking for

  • High School Diploma required, associate degree in engineering related field preferred
  • Engineering test experience preferred
  • Automotive experience preferred
  • General electrical and mechanical aptitude
  • Basic computer skills – Microsoft office
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Ability to stand on feet for 8 hours if necessary
  • Ability to work overtime or come in during off shifts to check on tests if necessary
  • Ability to travel to other work locations if needed for any training or required program meetings if unable to attend virtually
