Cox Automotive Canada (CAC), a subsidiary of Cox Automotive, is seeking a UX Designer to join our Product Management team in Mississauga, ON, CA.
In this role, you will be a key member of a cross-functional team that is tasked with creating outstanding products and content experiences for CAC. Working with colleagues from Product Management and Engineering, you will lead research with consumers and clients to inform the creation of flows, wireframes, and low-resolution prototypes. The Cox Automotive work environment is highly collaborative and requires excellent communication skills and a keen ability to build and foster strong partnerships through an open and transparent working style. You must have extensive experience designing for consumers and influencing others in a team environment. This role advocates for user-centered design techniques and data driven decision processes.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Be an active member of a cross-functional teams to analyze consumer, client, and business goals along with product requirements and translate them into high quality design solutions
Perform formative research with both consumers and clients to understand their needs and communicate your findings to the broader organization
Create solutions to address consumer and client needs through a process of rapid iteration of low-resolution designs including wireframes and low-fidelity prototypes
Understand and illustrate how your solutions’ experiences will exist within CAC’s products and how users will engage within and between those experiences
Balance user, client, and business needs to create solutions that address all three
Partner with UI designers as they create high-resolution mocks of your designs
Present design work to peers and business leaders to gain consensus
Develop UX related documentation, such as requirements, research ï¬ndings, journey maps, use cases, user proï¬les, and mental models
Analyze user studies and analytical data to gain deeper product understanding, KPIs and craft recommendations
Lead complex work streams independently
Engage in thinking across our products and services that results in high quality design solutions that benefit the user, client, and business
Qualifications:
4+ years of experience creating wireframes, page flows, site maps, and related design documentation for consumer-facing products
2+ years of experience conducting UX research and using findings to inform design deliverables
Demonstrated ability to create designs that meet user needs and achieve business results
Knowledge of current UX design strategies and trends across web and mobile platforms
Experience in iterative software delivery methodologies like Agile and SCRUM
Excellent oral, written, and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
Passion and experience working with engineering and product teams
Independent self-starter
Excellent leadership skills
Attention to detail and follow-through on completion of tasks
Experience designing UX in Compliance to AODA & WCAG standard for accessibility
Strong proï¬ciency wireframing and prototyping software, as well as familiarity with frontend code and web/mobile-based environments
Ability to gather and synthesize different types of usability research; surveys, A/B tests, user interviews, eye tracking, and usability tests
Preferred Skills – Adobe Photoshop, Jira or Rally, Google Analytics, Balsamiq, LucidChart (or similar workflow diagramming tool), Mural, and LUMA Workplace
Excellent time-management skills, including the ability to work on concurrent projects and quickly prioritize competing tasks and responsibilities
Bachelor’s degree in Information Design, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent work experience required, Master’s degree a plus
