Job Description

This role is known internally as Experience Designer.

What\'s the role about?

Thanks to a long-game strategy focusing on reinvention and differentiation, we\'re investing heavily in strengthening our proposition. That\'s why we\'re regularly observed as a retailer responding innovatively to these challenges. We\'re leading the high street in omni-channel shopping and powering change with the way we deliver exceptional \'experience\' shopping and services across all channels.

We\'re committed to continuing to supercharge our strategy of change and want to invite you to come and join us. You\'ll be working alongside the best talent around in an exciting and forward-thinking workplace. We\'re investing passionately in scaling our abilities across the business and the Omni team itself is following a reimagined strategy whereby the focus is on end-to-end design thinking.

If you\'re a passionate Experience Designer with at least 3 years commercial UX Design experience, why not join us?

You\'ll be supporting your manager to shape and nurture a growing Customer Experience team and help stimulate and drive team-related activities. You\'ll be relentless in your pursuit of shaping healthy and collaborative working practices and evangelising a customer focus across the business. You\'ll be an influencer, master of ceremonies and an experienced guide - it\'s all about working collaboratively with your team and wider stakeholders, creating new products and services across all channels including digital and shop that our customers love and need.

What will you be doing?

You are a very skilled and experienced end-to-end UX-focused Experience Designer who has a portfolio to prove it. You can demonstrate working from discovery stage to finished product, with a clearly defined process for each stage in between. You have a great eye for detail, are confident in your service design expertise and are able to communicate clearly and translate ideas to stakeholders and team members alike. Importantly, you know when a sketch is sufficient and a high fidelity prototype is overkill. In fact, you have a canny grasp on ‘working lean’ so thatyou create just enough to validate your work and get you to the next stage, continually checking in to ensure you are never wasting time or effort, but relentlessly delivering actionable insight.

This role requires a talented people-person who can work within cross-functional teams and demonstrate experience of both designing and delivering products that span multiple touchpoints, at pace and using Lean, Agile and user-centred design methodologies. You can inspire and motivate and get a kick out of bringing stakeholders and colleagues together to co-create greatness – exploring and defining what will delight the customer and achieve commercial success in equal measure. You’ll be a champion and ambassador for the customer experience for our digital and offline touchpoints across the entire business. Finally, you’ll savour the knowledge of knowing that you’ve positively influenced the design of a compelling suite of customer-loving products, services and propositions.

Activities and expertise include leading on design and research with customers and your team, creating and testing prototypes and facilitating workshops to elicit insight and drive team-driven discovery, definition, design and delivery in an iterative way.

What you’ll already have:

  • Qualifications or extensive professional experience of UX and digital design

  • Relevant commercial and responsive design, agile processes and project management experience

  • Can demonstrate a strong portfolio of UX design

What else could you bring?

  • Qualifications or professional experience of behavioural psychology, marketing or business

Please note:

  • As a business we encourage flexible working. We have a number of different ways to work flexibly, so at your interview feel free to talk about what flexibility means to you. There are no guarantees, however, examples of how our Partners already work flexibly include part-time, job share, home working and compressed hours. Head office areas also support a blended working approach.

  • We occasionally close vacancies early in the event we receive a high volume of applications. Therefore, we recommend you apply early

  • The application form consists of a CV upload, an online test followed by application questions. Please ensure you refresh the page each time you complete a task to ensure you complete everything that you need to in time.
