Job Description

At Microsoft, we believe in the transformational power of design: Innovation only happens when we make things simple and fluid, and the UX disappears behind the achievements of our customers. That’s where you come in. We’re looking for a designer who’s driven by empathy for customers, and the need to know how to serve them better. And we need you right now, because we’re building some of the fastest-growing, highest-impact technologies in the world today.

Within the Customer Care application group, you will be part of Dynamics 365 for Customer Service application, which is a rapidly growing space. Our team is constantly improving and evolving the product that helps our customers to transform their Customer Service operations. With cutting edge technology like AI, we aim to pioneer in this space.

You’ll design experiences that solve complex interactions with elegance and simplicity. The role’s broad scope will give you ample room to flex your design muscles—both on projects that have immediate impact on the Dynamics 365 business as well as explorations that shape our long-term strategy, vision and UX direction.

The company and team

At Microsoft, we have a clear mission and bold ambitions: Empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more through our technology and innovation. To make that a reality, our Dynamics 365 team is charged with crafting solutions that help customers transform their companies—whether they want to empower employees, engage customers, optimize their operations, or change the very nature of their product or business model.

Our vision as a Design Studio:

  • Bring humanity and simplicity to every product
  • Design experiences customers love
  • Work as a unified team
  • Deliver success
  • Become even better every day

We're growing, and we'd love for you to be a part of our story! Come join a positive and collaborative team—where everyone is encouraged to bring their authentic selves—and work at the forefront of Microsoft’s product portfolio.

Responsibilities

The Role

You’re a UX designer who loves to learn, solve challenges, and dream up breakthrough ideas. You've worked on similar projects already, and you're looking for a new adventure. You’re a tireless advocate for the customer, enthusiastic about building and iterating on designs to discover what works best and applying your knowledge to create incredible software products. You're passionate about your interests, and you want to work on projects that will change the world for the better.

You understand how to bring a team together to solve difficult product and customer problems, fixing what's not quite right and smoothing the customer’s journey through the product. You to find ways to reduce the number of screens, remove the extraneous, drive users to the next screen or next step, and shorten the path to “Wow!”

In our team, we believe in the power of inclusion, diversity of ideas, skills, backgrounds, work/life balance, and the joy of solving challenging problems together.

Responsibilities

As a designer on our team, you’ll be responsible for delivering design and innovation across one or more facets of the design process, including sketching, prototyping, storyboarding, information architecture, interaction design, and usability. You’ll use and contribute to Microsoft’s design patterns. You’ll work in an iterative manner, scoping and prioritizing work across multiple projects.  You’ll be an advocate for the user and champion industry-leading, inclusive, and user-centered design practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Design (e.g., user experience, HCI, graphic) or equivalent professional experience
  • At least 4 years of work experience
  • Strong practical knowledge of user-centered design methods and usability principles
  • Ability to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of designers, PMs, and developers
  • Track record of creating or improving product user experience
  • Ability to think creatively and critically about design problems
  • Demonstrated ability to create design solutions from ambiguous and complex concepts
  • Enthusiasm for an iterative design process
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present your work to peers across disciplines
  • Fluent in current design tools (Figma, Adobe CC, etc.)
  • Customer research driven

Bonus:

  • Experience producing functional prototypes, motion studies, and interface models
  • Experience designing for a Customer Care or Customer Service product, CRM solutions in general or enterprise products

A portfolio review presentation is required to interview for this role. Your presentation should communicate your work experience and demonstrate your design and communication skills.
