We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as an UX Design Team Lead, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.

Role Purpose

Securities Services Digital and Data is a dedicated value stream focusing on 6 key Digital Transformation value streams: Data Products, Apps and Client Experience, Transaction Management, Connectivity, DLT and Tokenisation and Data Standards and Governance.

The Team:

The Apps and Client Experiences Team is a global agile team responsible for the delivery of innovative technology solutions to improve client experience for all digital products and services and we are inviting passionate and experienced talent to join us.

The Design team provides Securities Services design consultancy best practices to ensure we deliver outstanding experiences. They are enabling a level of design autonomy to Securities Services Technology and reducing documentation to enhance speed to market. They support re-usable design and build components providing sustainable growth and ensure group standards met across Securities Services through Design guidance and governance.

In this role, you will:

  • Help create a user-centered and 'Design Thinking' culture across our development teams and promote the benefits of great UX design
  • Integrate with our core Securities Services Technology strategies and ways of working to ensure our client experiences are aligned and delivered at pace
  • Clear vision and management of consistent design governance aligned to our design guiding principles across all Securities Services digital experiences
  • Leadership qualities including being focused, innovative, patient, and authentic. Lead a team of UX/UI designers to ensure design approaches are integrated into our agile way of working Research real business problems and apply user-centered design principles to produce intuitive and streamlined experiences
  • Interview business users to develop personas, journeys and user stories that give an accurate profile of their behavior and needs
  • Develop and maintain design wireframes and specifications (both lo-fi and hi-fi)
  • Develop and test interactive prototypes (both lo-fi and hi-fi)
  • Continuous testing and evaluation of our live solution (via metrics and user feedback) to ensure that the designs we deliver to our business users meet their needs in the most effective and efficient way possible
  • Collaborate with end-users, stakeholders, product owners, architecture and product support teams to dig into the real problems we need to solve so we can ensure our UX strategy and roadmap tackles those problems
  • Maximise resourcing and impact by reusing open platform standards to create sustainable growth
  • Ensure our digital products are accessible. Support the bank’s vision to be the most digitally accessible financial services provider in the world

Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • A genuine passion for, and self-motivated interest in, User Experience and Design as a profession, not just a job
  • Be a curious, enthusiastic and creative 'Design Thinker' with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to present your ideas, designs and solutions clearly to teams and stakeholders around the globe (our working language is English so excellent verbal and written English language communication skills are essential)
  • An understanding of user journey analytics and KPI frameworks to support user feedback and drive future product enhancements
  • Be open to giving and receiving constructive feedback and criticism, and be comfortable proposing and presenting your own suggestions and ideas to the team
  • An ability to work effectively as part of a diverse and global agile team, but able to work independently too when required
  • A willingness to take ownership of design and technical problems, and be responsible and accountable for them and their solutions
  •  Experience of creating UX and UI design assets (such as wireframes, interactive prototypes and design system documentation) using industry standard tools and software
  • A solid understanding of the capabilities of modern web and mobile technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript (and associated frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue.js etc) as well as how the technologies of each can be used to further enhance the overall solution experience
  •  Strong skills using various prototyping tools to help understand the problem to be solved, test out concepts and share experiences with internal teams and clients
  •  Knowledge of rapid UX prototyping tools such as Axure, Invision, Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, Balsamiq or similar will be expected
