Principal Accountabilities

  • 35% Relieve Packaging Operators and Packaging Shift Lead who are on vacation, at lunch or meetings.

  • 30% Assists Lead by assures all machinery is functioning correctly, including inspection of all Quality Control focus areas, materials, products and containers at each step of the packaging process.

  • 10% Ensures the Line equipment and supplies are ready.

  • 10% Ensures the hold area is being maintained appropriately.

  • 5% Cleans work areas, machines, tools, and equipment.

  • 5% Fills supplies as needed.

  • 5% Completes various paperwork and any other duties as assigned by supervisor. 

  • Ability to read and understand all safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  

  • Ability to write routine reports and daily correspondence.  

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, plant visitors, or employees of the organization.  

  • Ability to complete basic mathematical computations.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • 6 or more months of food manufacturing experience

  • Basic knowledge of Inventory software.  Software specific training will be provided on the job.

  • Must be able and willing to work nights, overtime, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish.  

  • Forklift experience

  • Experience operating machinery used in packaging process, including but not limited to: box-maker, formax, grinder, tumbler, and palletizer.
