It is an exciting time for HM Land Registry as we continue on a major transformation programme. HMLR's ambition is to become the world’s leading land registry for speed, simplicity and an open approach to data.
We are now looking for User Researchers to join our Digital, Data and Technology team to help us to achieve this.
You will join our award-winning Digital, Data and Technology Directorate which is the in-house IT division at the heart of the move to a digital, data-driven organisation with the ambition to provide our customers with cutting-edge digital services.
HM Land Registry's existing software systems and services form part of the critical national infrastructure, safeguarding land and property ownership valued at £7 trillion. This enables over £1 trillion worth of personal and commercial lending to be secured against property across England and Wales.
As a User Researcher you will design, plan and carry out research to support and inform HM Land Registry digital services. Your job will involve collecting insights about the needs and experiences of public digital service users to help your team understand the people who use the services we provide and so to build better government services.
You will ensure that the voice of the user is listened to, acting as the user’s advocate in design decisions. You will also identify and analyse existing secondary insights and share results and findings across HM Land Registry to help improve the wider customer experience.
To be successful in this role, you will have experience of user research methods, understand when to use and apply these methods and when to involve your team. You can apply ethical research standards and practices to ensure the safeguarding and wellbeing of participants and researchers. You have the ability to analyse problems, using appropriate data and methods and can clearly explain and present your findings to colleagues across the organisation so they can understand and use.
You are able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of diverse users and work collaboratively with colleagues to include many kinds of users in appropriate research activities. In addition, you have an understanding of the social and technological context for government services and can align user research activities to help the team understand changing user behaviour.
For more information about the job, please see the attached Job Description.
We have offices all over the UK and you will need to be based near one of them. This role will be mostly home based with occasional travel to the office depending on business needs.
Where an individual taking up the responsibility will be based in Swansea Office, the ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
