    Customs Compliance Analyst

    The team:

    We are looking for a Customs Compliance Analyst to work within an expanding Finance team which include areas such as Tax, Treasury, Management Accounts, Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable and Commercial Finance. The role is primarily focused on supporting the US Customs Compliance Manager in maintaining ASOS’s global customs compliance.

    The role:

    The role will work closely with Retail, Suppliers, Supply Chain, Logistics as well as third party providers such as customs brokers and freight forwarders.

    This is a rare Customs opportunity in a global retail business experiencing huge growth. By joining our growing tax function, you’ll be taking on a role which will offer plenty of scope for career development.

    You will be … 

    • Gathering information required for US customs clearances – documentation, HTS codes, MIDs, etc. – and confirming release status of all import shipments
    • Working with third party providers to ensure service levels are met and to resolve issues
    • Assisting the Customs Compliance Manager in completing monthly audits for compliance of classification, valuation, origin, and record-keeping
    • Supporting the Customs Compliance Manager in relation to a wide range of customs projects, issues, and opportunities arising within the US and internationally
    • Providing ad hoc customs advice to stakeholders
    • Assisting the Customs Compliance Manager with both our duty drawback program and FTZ implementation & management

    We’d love to meet someone with…

    • 2-4 years’ experience in customs brokerage/compliance
    • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
    • Prior FTZ & duty drawback experience (preferred)
    • An in-depth understanding of import and export clearances
    • Knowledge of tariff classifications, particularly in apparel & cosmetics
    • The ability to work within and across teams while understanding and managing different priorities and expectations
    • Effective communication with multiple stakeholders
    • Confidence to question & challenge

    What success looks like...

    • Implementation of successful US import & export processes and managing the continuous improvement of these operations
    • Maintaining effective information flow between ASOS, third parties, and customs authorities.
    • Successful customs audits
