The Corporate Governance Manager role is a cross-cutting and developmental post which offers exciting opportunity to work on headquarters business. You will be working with stakeholders across Defence both in the UK and overseas, from the Falkland Islands to Singapore. Restrictions permitting, there will be opportunities to travel overseas to undertake assurance visits.
This role is key to supporting the Corporate Governance Officer (line manager) with the day-to-day delivery of a self-assessment questionnaire, the Internal Control Assurance Report (ICAR), and manage its ongoing requirements to ensure that all functional areas are adhering to local and overseas procedures and policies. As part of a continuous cycle, the successful post holder will assist in setting direction, mentoring, coaching and improving the ICAR processes with all relevant stakeholders both in the UK and overseas locations.
The right candidate will undergo a full induction and on the job training to ensure they are supported in delivering the requirements of the post and will be part of a wider Governance, Safety, Safeguarding and Assurance team. The successful candidate will be coached in order to learn the technical requirements of the role, so will not be expected to have prerequisite knowledge of the core tasks.
