Responsibilities
- Responsible for technical proposal writing focusing on high value proposals
- Develop proposal content, which is compliant, compelling, customer-focused, and persuasive in accordance with the solicitation and all referenced documents
- Collaborates cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, IT, Technical Services, Architecture, Delivery departments to gather and write proposal content which is accurate and adheres to company positioning
- Writes strong, client-focused content that presents Microsoft’s solution for the project and emphasizes key experience and selling points by capturing operational and sales input from internal team members and senior management
- Writes non-technical portions of proposals in coordination with other departments so that all proposal sections agree, use consistent language, and can be read as "one-voice" throughout all submitted documents
- Follows Microsoft’s Writing Style Guide
- Copyedits draft and final proposal responses and runs all checks including spelling, grammar, and consistency checks through Perfect It
- Coordinates and edits technical inputs for grammar and clarity
- Revises and improves technical content prepared by other departments for proposals to ensure readability and compliance without distorting original intent
- Adheres to company format standards
- Tracks and monitors the flow of all documents from inception to distribution of final copies
- Ability to research and write about complex technical topics in a way that is understandable to both technical and nontechnical audiences
- Actively participate in quality programs designed to improve the deliverables that go to Microsoft customers
- Participates in Win Theme workshop (led by Proposal Manager), takes outputs and forms cohesive win theme statements and executive summary outlines
Qualifications
- UK baseline security clearance preferred
- Extensive proposal writing experience with demonstrated ability in proposal, technical, or report writing, corporate communications, business development, or similar, required
- BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
- Strong research, writing, proofreading, formatting, and editing skills
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
- Able to travel as needed, domestically and internationally, up to 10%
