Job Description

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the outsourced specialist Health and Safety team to support delivery of the UK health and safety strategy
  • Providing advice and guidance on effective H&S risk management across a range of stakeholders;
  • Monitoring and reporting on health and safety performance across all aspects of the UK bank;
  • Leading the UK Fleet management outsourced service;
  • Overseeing the inclusive and accessible design and management of all UK properties.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Extensive experience / evidence of establishing health and safety strategy and managing health & safety risk in a similar size of organisation, with a high brand value;
  • Appropriate health & safety qualification at NEBOSH Diploma (UK) or equivalent (or working towards completion);
  • Demonstrable experience of reviewing health and safety compliance to a recognised safety standard e.g. ISO 45001;
  • Membership of a recognised professional safety body such as CMIOSH or equivalent is essential;
  • Proven knowledge and experience in implementing a risk management framework in relation to health and safety (or related discipline);
  • Demonstrated ability to improve health & safety compliance / reduce health & safety incidents within a significant business;
  • Demonstrated experience in managing customers, partners and third parties in a regional context;
  • Strong collaboration and networking abilities to effectively work with / achieve change through colleagues in a range of functions and third parties;
  • Strong leadership, communication and motivational skills; able to challenge views at all levels in the organisation with respect and authority;
  • Resilient in a dynamic and constantly evolving environment, and handling change and ambiguity.

The base location for this role is Birmingham on a hybrid basis. Some travel may be required to our UK sites.
