Position Summary:
Manages an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle flight operations department. Establishes Operating procedures and policies to include standard flight operations and ground operations policies and safety policies. Ensures compliance with company procedures. Primary UAV flight operations liaison to Bechtel project management personnel and Bechtel client representatives.
Responsibilities:
Extensive travel, including international travel, required.
Overtime/weekend work may be required.
US passport required.
Must be able to lift and move equipment in excess of 50 lbs.
Establish operating procedures and policies.
Manage a team of UAV pilots and contractors in CONUS and OCONUS operations.
Responsible for career development of flight operations personnel.
Coordinate and approve test cards for UAV flight testing and demos.
Coordinate and request FAA restricted airspace as necessary.
Make recommendations for product quality and reliability.
Interact with customer and supplier, technical and production staff.
Identify and pursue business development opportunities use cases.
Reviews schedules and budgets with program managers.
Approves project expenses related to execution of flight operations functions.
Influence the overall objectives and long-range goals of the business division.
Acts as a Principal investigator on Accident/Incident Review Committees.
Reports To: UAV Director of Flight Operations
Supervises: Unmanned Flight Operations Pilots and Contractors
Qualifications and Skills
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 4 years of experience in Tier 2,3 or 4 UAV flight operations.
UAV flying and technical experience required, instructor experience highly desired.
Min 2 Years Photogrammetry / Aerial Survey Experience.
FAA Part 107 Certification required.
Experience with Pix4D, Drone Deploy, Bently Context Capture, Trimble Stratus, Propeller or comparable UAV Data Processing experience required.
Demonstrated Knowledge of Global Coordinate Systems and Datums
Demonstrated Knowledge of surveying fundamentals
Basic understanding of Survey COGO
Survey CAD Software Experience a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience and knowledge in OSHA and FAA procedures and safety requirements.
Professional Land Survey Experience Preferred.
B.S. in related Professional Aviation, Engineering discipline or Management.
Minimum 2 years personnel training, evaluating and supervisory experience.
Minimum 2 years industrial UAV experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential.
