Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Monitor the plant’s quality systems and processes.
- Ensure product meets customer quality specifications. Knowledge of customer requirements with the ability to judge defects in coatings, metal.
- Perform inspections using a variety of inspection tools and fixtures (Calipers, Micrometers, Scales, etc.).
- Accurately document test, inspection, and investigation results.
- Controls non-conforming product by identifying and isolating defective material effectively. Example, place suspect material on hold for additional review (HFI).
- Visually inspects product.
- Verifies specified dimensions of product or material.
- Supports all manufacturing operations on a daily basis to ensure compliance with industry standards and company guidelines.
- Verify product quality within the specified parameters including weight, texture and other physical properties.
- Ensure the quality of purchased goods as well as finished goods.
- Maintain inspection checklists over processes and protocols.
- Identify problems and issues regarding quality of products and make recommendation to the higher authorities.
- Perform quality analysis on records and previous documentation.
- Use communication skills to communicate within quality department and manufacturing staff.
- Work overtime when needed and a rotating shift work schedule.
- Work with manufacturing to determine root cause and corrective action for quality defects. Document results in HFI system.
- Participate in CAT’s (Corrective Action Teams) when required.
- May be chosen to participate in 6 sigma and/or green belt programs.
- Coordinate and monitor product sorting activities.
- Effective at time management to ensure daily task are completed in allotted time.
- Proficient with use of computer and MS office software to perform data entry, complete logs and generate reports as needed.
- May perform other job related duties as required by supervisor.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- 3+ years working experience in a manufacturing setting (high-speed manufacturing is preferred).
- Effective record keeping skills and the ability to focus on details.
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks at the same time.
- Effective and proven communication skills (both written and verbal) working in a team environment.
- Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule.
- Must be able to work daily overtime including on Saturdays and Sundays when needed.
- Must have the ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds on occasion and regularly stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. This position may also require climbing or balancing.
- Pass physical/drug test, background check, reference checks.
