Purpose:

DAI is seeking a translator for document translation from English to Burmese (Myanmar) on an as needed or intermittent basis for one year within the project implementation period. The Translator provides support to the RITA project team by performing the project’s written translations in a timely manner. Document translation may include legal, technical (e.g., business, finance, marketing, corporate governance, information technology, etc.). The target audience for the required service is the Myanmar private sector.

Responsibilities

• Translate technical documents in a variety of formats (e.g., MS Office such as Word, PowerPoint, etc.) from English to Burmese (Myanmar).
• Proofread translated documents and edit to ensure each document is free of typographical and grammatical errors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, or other a relevant technical field; Post graduate advanced degree is preferred.
• At least five years of experience providing professional document translation services in some or all areas in investment, SME, business management, accounting, corporate governance, finance, agriculture, textile, logistics, IT, gender, logistics, transportation, and energy, etc.
• Experience in the usage of and access to a computer with MS Office (e.g., MS Word, Excel, etc.) is required
• Has excellent English and Burmese communications and writing skills.
• Has an ability to meet tight deadlines and a high level of concentration and attention to detail.
