Summary
This is an exciting strategic role in our Store Transformation Management Office responsible for driving forward our programme of change for M&S in stores.
You will be responsible for overseeing, enabling and supporting the delivery and execution of the Store Transformation plan. Driving improved store performance via delivery of Transformation by ensuring appropriate tracking, risk management and governance is in place. Manage the overall transformation plan, tracking progress, dependencies, benefits and alignment to the agreed delivery framework and standards. Drive cross-functional visibility of and engagement with the Transformation plan.
About the Role
- Works to shape the structure of the Transformation plan and its governance
- Own the risks and issues register, ensuring they are managed and mitigated as appropriate
- Ensure accurate, timely completion of key documentation
- Manage and engage with relevant stakeholders and other delivery partners
- Ensure regular programme updates are issued to all relevant stakeholders o Manage content and updates for Steering Group and other strategic meetings, e.g. ExCo
- The tracking of other key governance activities across the group, e.g. Audit, Risk Register
- Works closely with the Transformation Change and Programme Delivery Teams to ensure we are effectively managing the change impact this has on colleagues and stores and making progress against the plan

About You
- Able to confidently set up an appropriate governance structure from scratch, combining both industry-standard practice with Business-specific methodology, with minimal guidance
- Holds themselves and their teams accountable for delivering objectives and business targets
- Able to see the bigger picture, and coordinate across multiple projects in an interconnected way to deliver a larger, more strategic outcome
- Comfortable and effective working and managing across different business units, functions, teams and balancing the needs of different stakeholders within these
- Strong attention to detail in the presentation, content and accuracy of governance documentation, as well as its timeliness
- Maintains a positive attitude and a strong sense of opportunity during periods of turbulence
- Can flex their behaviour and style to be effective in a variety of situations and with different stakeholders
- Treats communication as a two-way process and can adapt style, knowing when to provide and request information
- Be self-sufficient, and be willing to ‘do’ as well as manage (the role will only have access to minimal resource)
- Competent manager of financial budgets, with experience of owning financial documentation
