What will you deliver?
- To develop and implement NELC policies and procedures for the highway electrical services function, including; traffic signals, street lighting, illuminated signs, VMS
- To control and monitor capital and revenue budgets for NELC and EQUANS spend with regard to Traffic Signals and Street Lighting
- Ensure the effective delivery of both street lighting and traffic signal Term Maintenance contracts by both EQUANS staff and the term maintenance contractors for each function
- To deliver the traffic signal maintenance service by supervising and liaising, on a day to day basis, with the Term Maintenance Contractor. This includes advising on contractual and safety matters and dealing with any complaints from the Public that other staff have been unable to resolve.
- Monitor the permanent automatic traffic signal and the Council’s SCOOT system and associated Wireless MESH system within North East Lincolnshire. Ensure faults are reported and rectified in a timely manner
- Identify and develop ideas and initiatives that support the "Smart Cities" agenda
- Supervise and assist with traffic signal design, commissioning and also the management of all traffic signal installations and associated systems including; wireless communications and similar systems

- Who are we looking for?
- Qualified to HNC / HND Electrical Engineer or relevant associated discipline
- Experience of Traffic Signals or Street Lighting within local authority environment or on a consultancy basis
- Previous experience managing a team
- Knowledge and experience of relevant legislation relating to Traffic Signals and Street Lighting
- Budget and project management skills which are essential to ensure the effective delivery of the service with limited resources
- Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise way, both verbally and in writing
- IT literate, including databases and Microsoft programmes
- Full valid UK Driving Licence
